C360 BI Terminology

There are some new terms that we have not discussed yet surrounding C360 BI. Below are a list of common terms used within C360 BI.

Collections

Collections are basically folders. There are used to group questions and dashboards to keep things nice and tidy.

Questions

Questions are the core of C360 BI. They are what we want to ask about our data.

Dashboards

Dashboards are a visual way to group similar questions together, apply filters, and share with your team members.

Data Sources / Tables

These are the primary source for our questions. You can read more about the tables we export in the Data Definition docs.

Bookmarks

Bookmarks are a way to quickly get back to things you visit frequently or have been working on recently. Bookmarked items show up in the main navigation sidebar above collections.

Events

A lot of discussions around data have a moment when someone asks a question related to a specific point in time. An Event is a way to capture that knowledge and make it available when you need it, in context (i.e., when you’re viewing a Question). That way, people, including your future self, won’t have to figure out why the line chart spiked back in March.

Timelines

A selection of Events can be grouped into Timelines, and Timelines can be associated within a Collection. Collections can have Timelines, and Timelines can contain Events.
