Fund Allocation Overview

Use the Funding Needs capability to replicate your organization’s chart of accounts in Compass-360. This is an advanced feature in the database. Benefits to utilizing the Fund Allocation structure include:

  • Assign income records to specific funds in your chart of accounts for a richer level of reporting.
  • Allocate single income records to multiple funds. This allows you to thank donors for a single income record while providing behind the scenes accuracy to your accounting team.
  • Design automatic rules for various activities in Compass-360 (i.e. events, campaigns, memberships etc) to allow Compass-360 to manage allocations for all on-line activity. This reduces the amount of manual allocations that have to take place.
  • Easily replicate your chart of accounts each year as well as lock years that have been completed and audited.
  • Define funds in Compass-360 that can be made directly available to donors through your on-line donation page.
