Building your Fund Allocation Structure

  1. From the Income Module, click the Funding Needs tab from the top.
  2. If you do not have a current fiscal year, click Add Fiscal Year. If you do, skip below to step 3.

Set the start and end dates and provide a description for future reference. Leave the Locked field set to False.

If you are replicating a complete prior fiscal year, highlight the fiscal year and select Copy Fiscal Year to replicate.

  1. Highlight the fiscal year and click Add. Funds can also be created as a child of another fund. Simply highlight that fund and click Add.
  2. Continuing adding your funds to mirror your chart of accounts.

Important to note:

If you are the Administrator of your Compass-360 database you can remove funds that do not have any allocations associated with them. If a fund does have allocations Compass-360 will not let you remove the fund.

Fund Hierarchy

Before creating funds, make sure that you have highlighted the level that you want to add a fund under. In the screenshot below, highlight Fiscal Year 2017 and choose Add to create a fund under that level. Highlight Annual Fund and select Add if you want to add a level under the secondary level.
