Add a Document

Utilize the File Cabinet Module to securely store and access files for record keeping and editing.

  1. From the File Cabinet Module, select the Folder View tab.
  2. Right click on the Documents folder and select Add Document.

Compass-360 can support Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and .PDF uploads for file types as well as various video file types.

Info: Images should be uploaded to the Content Management Module -> Site Files -> Images.

  1. Click the Select Document button and Compass-360 will access files from your local storage.
  2. Select the file you wish to upload and Compass-360 will assign a Name and Description. You can change these if necessary.
  3. Define the Document Type as appropriate. Most files will be classified as General.
  4. Set the Document Usage. This determines where the file will be made available throughout parts of your database. For general storage of files, use General.
  5. Leave the Expires On and Mime Type blank.
  6. If you wish to attach this document to a record, click the ? icon to associate this document with a particular record in Compass if necessary. i.e. and event venue contract with a particular event.
  7. Click Save to upload the document.

You will see your document appear in the designated folder. Right click and select View and Compass-360 will open up the file in the appropriate application. Other team members with access to the File Cabinet Module can now retrieve the file through Compass.
