Income Management

The Income Module is where all your donations, sales, membership dues and more will be tracked. This module also stores the history of all income activity and allows you to generate and send thank you letters and emails using merge fields from your income records, generate receipts for purchases, and link income records with constituents in your database. There is also a tremendous amount of detail that can be tracked about an income record depending on your organizational processes.

Income records can be donations, sales, membership dues and more. You can also add custom income types to track unique income for your organization.

Income records can have many payment types. For example, half paid by check and half by credit card. An income record does not require a payment to be accurately tracked for accounting purposes.

Important to note:

All income processed through an event activity (tickets, paddle calls, etc) will have the type of sale. These are line items and are tracked uniquely on an invoice. An income record linked to an event will have an associated event invoice.

Pending Income

Any online transaction will be created with the status of Pending. This requires a manual process of “matching” the income record to a constituent. Compass-360 will not automatically create or match a constituent with the information provided online.

There are internal notifications that get sent for any online transaction. It is best practice to monitor these notifications and match them on a daily or weekly basis – depending on your organization’s capacity.
